What are the COVID-19 Protocols?

The SliceFest team acknowledges that the pandemic is not over, and as a result, will be working to ensure our attendees, artists, volunteers and staff stay as safe as possible. SliceFest highly recommends that people get vaccinated if able, that people wear masks and socially distance, and that anyone uncomfortable with the following guidelines not attend this year’s event.

Below, please find a list of measures and expectations for SliceFest 2021. SliceFest is using the best information we have available and adhering to the guidelines set forth by the CDC.

  • Masks will be required in our indoor venues, and everyone is highly encouraged to wear masks even when outside except when eating/drinking.

  • SliceFest volunteers and staff interacting with the public will be masked.

  • SliceFest will have complimentary masks on site but requests that people bring their own.

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be positioned throughout the festival.

  • SliceFest volunteers and staff will be equipped with appropriate sanitizer to wipe down frequently touched surfaces.

These measures are implemented with the simple goals of keeping people safe and keeping businesses open. This is an opportunity to showcase Birmingham and the historic Lakeview District. Regardless of personal feelings, we ask our attendees to willingly adhere to these measures.

To our neighboring restaurants inside of the festival footprint, we request that your business and team members cooperate with our COVID and festival protocols. Collaboration inside the festival footprint helps us ensure the safety of all our Lakeview patrons, festival-goers, and event & restaurant staff.

Will there be food, or should I eat in the restaurant?

Slice Pizza & Brew will be open all day. Of course, we will have limited seating inside the restaurant and on our patio. But, Slice will offer slices of pizza on site and have the Slice Food Truck serving personal pies. There will also be various vendors and food trucks that will be selling food on-site! Get a taste of all the unique cuisine options! There are also many Lakeview Restaurants in close proximity to SliceFest. You can take your tastebuds on a culinary and beverage treat by visiting Moe’s Original BBQ, The Purple Onion, FIVE Birmingham, Los Amigos, Steel Gastropub, Umami, Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, Innisfree Irish Pub, Lou’s Package Store and Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint. You must get a slice of pizza though, because what’s a pizza party without pizza? Birmingham, you better come hungry - that’s all we have to say!

Can I bring my children?

Yes, bring them on! SliceFest is kid-friendly, and children 12 and under get in free! SliceFest will have a special Kids Zone beginning at 3 p.m. that includes a petting zoo, face painting and so much more.

Can I bring pets?

Pet Friendly? That we are. However, the health department says, “No pets allowed inside the restaurant!” Bring your furry friend and hang out outside.

Can I bring chairs and Coolers?

Due to space limitations, guests are asked not to bring tables, chairs or coolers. Besides, we will have everything you need! From Slice pizza to Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails, United-Johnson Bothers wine, Birmingham Budweiser beer to iced cold Coca-Colas - we got everything that goes in your cooler!

IS OUTside FOOD AND DRINK ALLOWED?

Outside food and drink will not be permitted.

Can I leave and return later?

If you really want to leave you can, but who wants to leave SliceFest?! If you do leave, make sure you retain any badges or armbands necessary to identify you as a ticket holder, then we will let you back in.

What is the age to be considered a child?

At SliceFest, we like to let our inner child out, but as far as ticket pricing goes - Children 12 and under are free!

Are video cameras allowed?

Small recording devices (i.e. iPhones, iPads) are allowed on site, and photographing, videoing your experience at Slice is encouraged. Make sure you post it on social media and tag us @SliceFest on Facebook and @SliceFestBham on Instagram.

We want to see how much fun you had. However, if you purchase a ticket to SliceFest and take photos or video, you agree not to sell any of your materials for profit. You also agree to allow Slice to use your video or photos for promotional purposes.

What happens if it rains?

Everyone loves a good summer rain, so why cancel? SliceFest will happen rain or shine! To be safe, bring a poncho.

Where should I park?

The Slice Pizza and Brewhouse parking lot will close at midnight the night before SliceFest. Since the main parking lot will be closed that day, parking along 29th street in Lakeview is encouraged. The lots behind Slice are going to be closed for that day, as well. Due to limited parking, we encourage guests to Uber or Lyft to SliceFest!

Is this a cash-only event or will credit cards be accepted?

Paper or plastic will be accepted, so bring your cash, bring your credit/debit card and enjoy some good music, great brews, vodka and wine, along with delicious pizza and fun with friends and family.
